My faith doesn’t stand still. It is a solid core of my existence, but it is by no means an unmoving anchor. It is something dynamic, always in motion. This kinetic energy is the reason that I find the idea of pilgrimage so inviting. It represents a journey to my own centre, but it is no means finite. It feels like both a destination, and the starting point of a further journey. The Tawaaf Series highlights the tension between the overwhelming power of the Holy site and the irresistible magnetism that pulls believers towards Mecca.
